The U. S. Army M65 field jacket became standard issue to United States troops in 1965 during the Vietnam Conflict as a replacement for the M51 jacket. The M65 represented the culmination of field jacket design, drawing on the technological developments of theM41, M43 and M51 field jackets used in WWII and Korea. Its design showed so adapt for its purpose that in stayed in service for over 40 years literally unchanged before the jacket retired from the U.S, military; however, it became immortalized in the world of cinema and fashion.
Our version of the M65 Field Jacket has been done with the scope to enhance all quintessential design elements of the jacket while at the same time staying true to its original design and heritage;
Enhanced size and depth of chest pockets for stronger impact
Removed shoulder epaulets
Lowered drawstring around the waist downwards on the hip
Reduced height of hip pockets
Velcro tape above chest pockets, on shoulders and on front button placket
Two concealed zipped side vents on back added for increased comfort when sitting down
In addition to these changes the fit has been revised with a shaper and slimmer silhouette whilst maintaining the ease of movement required on the battlefield.
